C. Hallman

C. Hallman is a USA Today Bestselling Author who writes dark and contemporary romance. She is also one half of the international bestselling author duo Beck & Hallman.

Born and raised in Germany, Cassandra moved to the United States when she was eighteen. She’s now a mom to three boys and happily married to her husband of 13 years. Her love for reading slowly transpired into writing. She put fingers to the keyboard and started writing about the dark side of romance.

  1. How long does it typically take for you to write a book? If I have a quiet house and can 100% concentrate on writing, I can have a full-time novel done in 10 days. I read and write very fast and I don’t really outline or plot ahead. The very first novel I co-wrote with J.L. Beck, we wrote in less than a week. However, since the whole pandemic nightmare and my kids being at home most of the time, writing has become difficult. When I read or write, I have to be in the story, my mind has to be consumed with it. So, when I’m in the middle of a scene and one of my kids bursts into the room asking where the toilet paper is, that throws me the hell off. Now, on average it takes my co-author and I six weeks to write a full-length novel.

  2. What do you do in your spare time? Huh? Spare time? What’s that? Seriously, I do not have spare time. My days are jam packed from the time I get up to the glorious moment my head hits the pillow. I’m a full-time author, running a small publishing company with my co-author, I’m a wife, and a mom of three boys. Between writing, publishing, graphic design, soccer games, doctor appointments, and school events, there is really no down time left for me. I haven’t watched TV in about two years simply because I have no time. BUT even though reading and writing is part of my job, I really, really enjoy doing it, so it doesn’t always feel like work, which is probably the only reason I’m still sane… well, somewhat sane.

  3. What’s on your desk? My laptop, a cute mouse pad, cup of coffee, and a few pens. I try to keep my desk fairly neat. It’s the rest of my office that’s a mess. Stacks of books on top of the bookshelves full of books, books on the windowsill, boxes of unpacked books, empty Amazon boxes where books used to be, other empty boxes ready for books to go inside and be send off, our books that are waiting to be signed, as well as books from my favorite authors that have been signed by them. Basically, a lot of books in my office.

  4. Where can we find you?

Sara Cate

My name is Sara Cate, and I’m obsessed with forbidden romance. Everything I write is bound to be packed with heat and heart. I love characters so bad, dark, and dirty you can’t help but love them and romance so taboo it makes those HEAs feel impossible.

  1. What’s the one thing you can’t live without? Coffee. And wi-fi I guess. I mean...I feel like I could conquer the world with coffee and wifi.

  2. Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind? I have an obsession with lo-fi beats while I write. It’s sort of relaxing and motivating at the same time. That and Taylor Swift’s new album on repeat.

  3. On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being a scorching inferno, what’s heat level do you write? I’d say 4. I love a good slow burn, but I also love scenes that will light your Kindle up in flames.

S. Rena

I write contemporary and multicultural romances with heroes who are sweet on their ladies, dirty in bed, yet completely irresistible under Sade Rena. But as S. Rena, I delve into the darker side of romance with my bestie BL Mute.

  1. How’d you get your start? I’ve been writing since I could hold a pencil, but I really fell in love with story telling when I joined a writing program in middle school. We wrote original poetry that was published, and rewrote all the classics like Hamlet, The Odessy and more. But I was 16 when I wrote my first novel that I later published in 2015.

  2. Where, who, or what sparked your craziest plot idea? I worked as a Front Desk Supervisor a few years back and we’d receive this calls from this guy wanting to have phone sex. I didn’t think I would take that true story and turn it into my best selling book years later. Dirty Calls is the name of that book. https://amzn.to/2RTbfey

  3. What are you working on currently? Lots. I am co-writing an 8 book series with BL Mute called the Ciccone Brothers Series. But individually, I am gearing up to release the second book in my Small-Town Cowboy series, Last Chance Cowboy, a friends to enemies to lovers romance. https://amzn.to/2SlIB6q⁣⁣

  4. Where can we find you? I’m on social media everywhere as Saderenawrites or visit my website www.saderena.com

BL Mute

My name is Brooke-Lynn but I write under BL Mute. I live in northern Texas with my husband of almost a decade and three kiddos. I have an unhealthy obsession with tattoos, having too many to count at this point, over priced coffee, and cuss words. I write romance that is either dark or has dark elements. I love building and creating characters that are flawed or broken and giving them a happy ending, even if it takes a while to get there.

  1. What are you currently working on? Right now I am completing my Hale Mafia series, working on a couple secret solo projects, and pounding out a new eight book series with my bestie, S. Rena. Book one of said series will be in the Tangled Sheets set. YAY!

  2. What is your favorite kind of music? I don’t really have a favorite if I’m being honest. My dad was a complete metal head and my mom loved country. I like to think I got the best of both worlds growing up. If I was with my dad, I listened to a lot of Pantera, Slipknot, Dio, and so many more. As with my mom, it was more George Straight, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw... Basically all of the greatest. When I got into high school, I started dance and fell in love with Jazz, Hip-Hop, Classical, and pretty much everything else with any sort of beat. I love all music. I guess it just depends on my mood of the day for what I want to listen to.

  3. Why do you write? I write as an escape. Writing started as a healthy outlet for my depression and anxiety, then just gradually grew. I love sharing my stories and characters with the world and I love evoking emotion. Even if that emotion happens to be hate... directed at me LOL

  4. Where can we find you? I’m Everywhere! Kidding!

Aria Rae Blossom

My name is Ia Ong Xiong, but I write under my Romance pen name as Aria Rae Blossom. I’m currently living in the twin cities on Minnesota, even though I can’t stand the season change. Loving to read all kinds of Romance novels and comics, I write in all multi-subgenres.

I was born in a refugee camp in Thailand and immigrated to the United States at a young age with my family. Since English was my second language, I had a terrible stuttering in my communication. I also hated writing because my grammars and punctuations were horrible.

My life has changed the instant my ESL teacher have complimented my stories during several writing assignments in sixth grade. With no friends in seventh grade, I have become a bookworm and read tons of books to improve my English vocabularies tremendously.

Ever since that moment in my life, I have begun to love writing stories and even have dreamed to become a famous and successful author. Nowadays, I have also turn to write books to get over my severe depression in the past decade. Realizing the truth, I know my author career is the only important matter that makes me want to continue living in this lifetime.

  1. What projects are you currently working on at this moment? At this moment, I rather focus on joining many other boxsets to publish short stories and novellas to increase audiences on my writing works. Right now, I already publish a sweet romance novella in November and one romantic suspense novella in January. I’ll be plotting a steamy contemporary romance, an interracial romance, and mafia romance next year. On the side, I’ll do my best to finish and publish my first book of a billionaire romance series, either in late 2021 or in early 2022.

  2. What is my writing process on all my projects? I’m a Gemini, so my brain run faster than my heart. I can think of many ideas for my stories in a quick time. I also need to listen to songs to stimulate my imagination. Furthermore, I write faster when I listen to folk songs that give me motivation or else, I’ll be bored fast. When I have love and support from my dear ones, I’ll be able to write several short stories and novellas in a month. If not, then I’ll be in deep despair for several weeks.

  3. What do I do on my spare time? I also use some of my free time to write other genres such as Fantasy, Thriller, Mystery, Horror, and Poetry. Besides my author career, I’m also having a dream to publish my writing works in comics or graphic novels version. I’m planning to take several hours to study drawing comics online. Furthermore, I’m also interested in studying foreign languages like Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. I’ll use some of my spare time to study some of these languages online or from reading books. I know that these two hobbies will also help advance my writing career in the future.

  4. Where can we find you? I don’t have a website yet, but you can find me on my social media. I’ll wait until I finish a series of 6+ books before I start creating my own website. So, please check the link below to follow me and check for more writings update from me.

Adelaide Forrest

Adelaide Forrest writes dark mafia romance featuring brutally possessive alpha males with questionable morals who will do whatever it takes to claim their women. She enjoys playing with the contrast between opposites, and commonly dives headfirst into characters that shouldn’t work together, but somehow do.

  1. What’s one thing you can’t live without? Music. It fuels everything for me, from writing to housework to playtime with my kids. Random dance breaks are common in the Forrest household. We listen to anything and everything under the sun.

  2. Which character has been your favorite to write and why? I would have to say that would be Ryker from Grieved Loss. The stalker came through loud and clear in my head, and he completely took control of the book and brought me along for the ride. I loved his brand of crazy.

  3. What are you currently working on? What sometimes feels like all the things LOL. I’m outlining book five in my Bellandi series, writing book two in my Kings of Conquest series of royal romances, as well as planning out a dark secret society menage romance and the continuation of my mafia romance.

Kara Liane

I’m Kara Liane and my passion for writing romance novels began when I read the Twilight Saga and then the Fifty Shades of Grey series. I’ve always been a writer, but mostly I wrote short stories or dabbled in poetry. When my ex was on one of his deployments, I began crafting my first book and decided that it would be romantic, but it needed some spice to it. When I’m not writing, I’m first and foremost a single mom to twin boys. I’m also a dog mom to an adorable five-pound min-pin. I also work full-time as a wastewater lab supervisor; I love my career in the environmental field. Following your dreams and pursuing your passions are important in life—I’m glad I found mine!

  1. Which of the books you’ve written is your favorite and why? I’ve written eight books so far and I have to say A Force of Nature is my fave because I love the main character, Brent, so very much. He’s broken but beautiful. His soul is tortured and yet he’s the most selfless person. He was such a complicated character to write and it challenged me, which I’m grateful for.

  2. Where do you write? I write anywhere and everywhere. If it’s a good plot point, or a useful word that hits me in the middle of a conversation, then I’ll stop and type it into my phone so I don’t forget. I write at night mostly, though, when my kids are settled for the evening. I don’t write as much as I’d like, but it’s difficult with my schedule; I make it work somehow.

  3. When you complete a book do you have anything special you do to celebrate? Yes, I actually toast myself with whatever I’m drinking (even if it’s water), and of course I have to post a selfie on social media to announce my accomplishment; I feel like it’s mandatory ha ha. My mom is my biggest cheerleader so I have her read it right away to get feedback, and we celebrate by dissecting it.

ML Preston

Hi there. I am ML Preston and write steamy Contemporary/IR/MC Romance. I live in bi-polar weather Texas with my hubby, 3 brats, and a fur-baby. When I'm not writing, I make things. Crafting is quickly turning into a side business aside from this business. I also like to take pictures and hope to one day add that to the list of things I do. Maybe I can finally learn how to take pictures of the moon while using my telescope.

  1. What’s your star sign - are you the typical ‘libra’ etc. - I am a Libra and I have come into understanding my star sign a little more as I mature. I am always weighing the pros and cons of nearly every situation and I do crave balance. One of our character flaws is being indecisive. My hubs cannot stand that about me. Sorry it is who I am. I also cannot stand conflict, so I try to be the peacemaker at all times. The recent years have made me less people-y and that bothers me because I do love people. I love meeting people and being around my tribe and I guess in a sense, socializing, although I am not your typical social butterfly. I love, love and the beauty of it. This is why I love to write interracial stories that showcase how love transcends all.

  2. Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind? - Music is my muse! I have a playlist for nearly all of my stories. From Country to Rock to R&B and Old School, if there is a song, I'm listening to it. I even have playlists for traveling, cooking, and of course sexy times.

  3. On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being a scorching inferno, what’s heat level do you write? - The tamest book I have written was Love Lessons and that was at a very mild 3. The rest of my stories are level 4-5. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. After all, my friend read one of my books and shortly thereafter was pregnant. I'm just saying.

Renee Harless

Renee Harless is a bestselling author of over twenty novels, writing contemporary and suspenseful romance.

Renee, her husband, and their children live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She studied Communication, specifically Public Relations, at Radford University. As an active member of theater and choir growing up, Renee leaped headfirst into writing for a new creative outlet.

If you can’t find her behind a computer or with her nose in a book, she can most likely be found at a Disney Park.

  1. How long does it typically take for you to write a book? - If I’m really feeling the book, I can have a full-length novel complete in a few days, but I usually take a month to claim a book fully finished. I work in healthcare full-time, and with the onset of the pandemic, finding time to write is few and far between, but I’m always jotting down notes and ideas to help quicken the process.

  2. What do you do in your spare time? - Like most people, I’ll certainly ask what this “spare time” is you’re referring to, but I try to make sure I spend some free time with my family. It may be a board game here or there or planning our next Disney trip. I also design graphics on the side, so I’ll make book covers or teasers to break up a day/night of writing. Before bed, I try to unwind by reading for a half-hour or so.

  3. What’s on your desk? - I want to say that my desk is clutter-free, but unfortunately, I’m in the middle of a basement remodel, which means my office is being used for storage and there are non-book items all over the place. It’s honestly driving me crazy.

Sahara Roberts

Hello, I’m Sahara Roberts. I write Dark Mafia Romance and Romantic Suspense. I’m in sunny South Texas with my husband and our three furry overlords.

  1. How’d you get your start? - I’ve been writing my entire life. My first win was a writing contest in third grade. I didn’t get serious about becoming an author until 2010 or so. My first series is a traditionally published Romantic Suspense series. I remember my book had to be toned down because it was too dark and my editor felt it wouldn’t sell.I finally went indie in 2020 and I can happily write my anti-heroes without worrying about a publisher’s likes or dislikes.

  2. Which character has been your favorite to write and why? - My favorite character has been Tino from Saving Bonnie. My husband says I found my niche when I blasted through a scene where my former sicario was getting payback. I went back and toned it down a bit because my readers aren’t quite dark-dark.

  3. On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being a scorching inferno, what’s heat level do you write? - My former editor, when I was traditionally published, called my books Romantic Suspense with erotic elements. I’d put myself at a 4 to 4.5 because my sex scenes are detailed. Though I had to add that I recently got a one star because the reviewer said Stealing Iris “was pornography”. It’s times like this I’m glad I have very little shame.

  4. What are you working on currently? - This will be a busy year. I should be finishing Seducing Mattie, the third book in the Blood Ties Series in a couple of days. I’ll continue with Harlan and Ber, the next books in the Rise of Faust series, a spin-off of Blood Ties. Then I’ll go on to Tangled Sheets, Hate to Want You, and Killing Me Softly.

Rachel Leigh

I write romance with suspense, twists and turns, and all the feels. I’ve been a published author for almost two years now and currently have ten books available, with my eleventh releasing next month.

  1. How did you start writing? Writing has always been a passion of mine. When I was a kid, a friend of the family bought me an electric typewriter and I just thought it was the coolest thing ever. I wrote so many short stories and poems on it. Some I still have today. As time past and I grew up, life got busy and writing sort of just fizzled out. It wasn’t until a couple years ago after days of binge reading a five book series that I had a major book hangover and on a whim decided to write my own book. I never imagined I would write full length novels, let alone publish them, but it’s the best decision I ever made.

  2. What is one thing you cannot live without? Coffee, of course. It wakes me up in the morning, gets me through my day, and settles me in the for night. I didn’t start drinking coffee until about five years ago. I’m a former diet-coke addict, and once I quit that, I gave coffee a go. We’ve been together ever since.

  3. How long does it take you to write a book? I’d like to say that I space myself out and write at a leisurely pace. But, that would be a lie. I usually start a book, give my self a deadline that is typically two months out and then I wait until three weeks before my deadline and write the entire thing. So, I can write a book in as little as three weeks if I neglect all responsibilities. On average, I’d say a month.
